Tumacácori Visitor Center and Museum
Address: 1891 E Frontage Road, Tumacacori, AZ 85640
Tumacacori preserves the ruins of three Spanish mission communities in Arizona's Santa Cruz River Valley, including the landmark church of San Jose de Tumacacori, begun by Franciscans in 1800. The 1937 Mission Revival museum building is itself a National Historic Landmark.
Explore the mission church and courtyard and the museum's exhibits; young kids can earn a Junior Ranger badge. For a challenge, hike the 4.5-mile stretch of the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail along the river to Tubac Presidio and back.
