Steamtown occupies the former Delaware, Lackawanna and Western railroad yards in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where a reconstructed roundhouse and working turntable frame one of the country's finest collections of steam locomotives, including the huge Union Pacific Big Boy.
Climb into locomotive cabs, watch the turntable spin a 200-ton engine, and ride the short yard shuttle. For a challenge, take the full museum plus a longer seasonal train excursion through the Pocono countryside behind a working locomotive.
