Address: 1000 North Outer Line Drive, King of Prussia, PA 19406

Valley Forge preserves the ground where Washington's Continental Army endured its third winter encampment, from December 1777 to June 1778, suffering through cold and hunger while Baron von Steuben drilled them into a professional army. The park holds Washington's headquarters, recreated soldiers' huts, and the National Memorial Arch.

Step inside the soldiers' huts, visit Washington's headquarters, and see the National Memorial Arch; young kids can earn a Junior Ranger badge. For a challenge, hike or bike the full 5-mile Joseph Plumb Martin Trail loop around the entire encampment.
