Where the Delaware River slices through Kittatinny Ridge between Mount Tammany and Mount Minsi, this 70,000-acre park protects 40 miles of free-flowing river, tumbling waterfalls like Dingmans and Raymondskill (Pennsylvania's tallest), and mill villages the flooded Tocks Island Dam project left behind.
Swim at Milford Beach, walk the boardwalk to Dingmans Falls, and paddle the river; young kids can earn a Junior Ranger badge. For a challenge, climb the steep Mount Tammany trail for the classic view down into the gap.
