Sagamore Hill, Theodore Roosevelt's Long Island home, was the 'Summer White House' from 1902 to 1908 and the place where TR raised six children, kept his hunting trophies, and died in 1919; the house remains almost exactly as his family left it.
Tour the trophy-filled rooms, see the Old Orchard museum, and walk the nature trail toward Cold Spring Harbor. For a challenge, take the full house tour and hike the Eel Creek boardwalk trail.
