Grant's Tomb in Manhattan's Morningside Heights is the final resting place of Ulysses S. Grant, the general who won the Civil War and the 18th president, beside his wife Julia. The domed granite mausoleum, dedicated in 1897 before a million mourners, is the largest tomb in North America.

Peer down at the twin red granite sarcophagi and study the battle mosaics. For a challenge, explore the memorial's exhibits on Grant's life and the tomb's remarkable history, including its rescue from decay.
