Administration Clock Tower Building Visitor Center

Address: 610 E. 111th Street, Chicago, IL 60628

Pullman is America's first model planned industrial community, built in the 1880s by George Pullman to house the workers who built his famous railroad sleeping cars. The town's ornate architecture survives, and the violent 1894 Pullman strike here reshaped American labor law and led to the creation of Labor Day.

Explore the visitor center in the restored clock-tower factory building and walk the historic streets. For a challenge, take the full walking tour of the district, from the factory to the workers' row houses and the Hotel Florence.
