Address: 426 S. 7th Street, Springfield, IL 62701

The only home Abraham Lincoln ever owned stands in a preserved four-block Springfield neighborhood where the Lincoln family lived from 1844 until he left for the White House in 1861. Neighboring houses hold exhibits on Lincoln's family life and his community, and reenactors bring the street to life in season.

Tour the Lincoln Home, walk the board sidewalks of the historic district, and visit the exhibit houses; young kids can earn a Junior Ranger badge. For a challenge, spend a full day on the ranger-led home tour plus the neighborhood exhibits and the visitor center film.
