The Obed and its tributaries cut deep sandstone gorges through Tennessee's Cumberland Plateau, creating whitewater runs prized by paddlers and cliff walls prized by rock climbers. Lilly Bluff offers a famous overlook above the river's twists.
Walk the easy trails to Lilly Bluff Overlook, splash in Clear Creek at Nemo, and visit the Wartburg visitor center. For a challenge, experienced paddlers can kayak the Obed gorge or Daddys Creek, serious Class III-IV whitewater, or climb the park's celebrated sandstone routes.
