Little River is called the nation's longest mountaintop river, carving a deep canyon into the top of Lookout Mountain in Alabama, with waterfalls at Little River Falls and 133-foot Grace's High Falls. The canyon's rim and river draw kayakers to world-class spring whitewater.
See Little River Falls from the boardwalk, drive the scenic rim road, and swim in the gentle pools above the falls. For a challenge, expert paddlers can run the canyon's Class III-V rapids, and hikers can scramble down the steep Eberhart Point trail to the river.
