Address: 601 Riverfront Dr., Omaha, NE 68102

This 4,900-mile trail follows the Corps of Discovery from Pittsburgh to the mouth of the Columbia River, the 1804-1806 expedition that crossed the continent, mapped the Louisiana Purchase, and recorded dozens of Native nations with the help of Sakakawea. The trail's headquarters and visitor center in Omaha orient travelers to hundreds of marked sites.

Follow the expedition's story at trail visitor centers along the route and walk signed segments of the historic path. For a challenge, drive or paddle the trail's full length, a genuine transcontinental journey.
