Address: 223 North Main Street, Independence, MO 64050

The Victorian house at 219 North Delaware Street in Independence was Harry Truman's home from his 1919 marriage to Bess Wallace through his presidency and retirement; here the 33rd president made decisions that ended World War II and began the Cold War, then returned to live as a private citizen.

Tour the home exactly as the Trumans left it; young kids can earn a Junior Ranger badge. For a challenge, add the Truman Farm in Grandview and walk the Independence neighborhood Truman walked every morning.
