Gallatin House

Address: 223 New Geneva Rd., Point Marion, PA 15474

Friendship Hill was the home of Albert Gallatin, the longest-serving U.S. Treasury Secretary, who financed the Lewis and Clark Expedition, kept the young nation solvent, and later negotiated the Treaty of Ghent ending the War of 1812. His stone house overlooks the Monongahela River south of Pittsburgh.

Tour the house and walk the river bluff paths. For a challenge, explore the site's ten miles of trails through the wooded hills Gallatin loved.
