E. E. Fogelson Visitor Center
Address: E. E. Fogelson Visitor Center, 1 Peach Drive, Pecos, NM 87552
Pecos layers 2,000 years of Southwest history in one valley: the great Pecos Pueblo that Coronado visited in 1540, the ruined Spanish mission churches, ruts of the Santa Fe Trail, and the 1862 Battle of Glorieta Pass, the 'Gettysburg of the West' that ended Confederate hopes in New Mexico.
Walk the trail through the pueblo ruins and down into the mission church; young kids can earn a Junior Ranger badge. For a challenge, take the guided tour of the Glorieta Pass battlefield and Forked Lightning Ranch.
