Pea Ridge National Military Park

Address: 15930 National Park Dr, Garfield, AR 72732

Pea Ridge preserves the site of the March 7-8, 1862 battle where Union forces won a victory that secured Missouri for the Union. The battlefield includes the restored Elkhorn Tavern at the fight's epicenter, a stretch of the pre-war Old Telegraph Road, and part of the route later used during the Cherokee Trail of Tears.

Tour the visitor center museum and drive the battlefield's interpretive road past Elkhorn Tavern. For a challenge, hike the battlefield's trail network on foot, covering the rolling ground where the two-day fight unfolded.
