Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park

Klondike Gold Rush Visitor Center

Address: 2nd & Broadway, Skagway, AK 99840

This park tells the story of the 1897-98 Klondike Gold Rush, when tens of thousands of stampeders poured through Skagway, Alaska, over the brutal Chilkoot and White Pass trails toward the Yukon goldfields. Historic buildings fill Skagway's downtown, and a second unit in Seattle marks where the rush began.

Join ranger walks through Gold Rush-era Skagway and explore the historic buildings and museums; young kids can earn a Junior Ranger badge. For a challenge, hike the full 33-mile Chilkoot Trail itself, following the stampeders' route to Canada (permits required).
