Kenai Fjords protects the Harding Icefield, one of America's largest, and the deep fjords its glaciers carved into Alaska's Kenai Peninsula coast. Exit Glacier is the one part reachable by road; the rest is a wilderness of tidewater glaciers, sea lions, puffins, and orcas best seen by boat from Seward.
Walk the easy trail to Exit Glacier's face and take a wildlife cruise into the fjords. For a challenge, climb the strenuous 8-mile Harding Icefield Trail to stand beside a river of ice stretching to the horizon.
