On March 15, 1781, General Nathanael Greene's Americans fought Lord Cornwallis to a bloody standstill at Guilford Courthouse; the British held the field but lost a quarter of their army, a wound that pushed Cornwallis to Yorktown and surrender seven months later.

Walk the battlefield loop past 28 monuments; young kids can earn a Junior Ranger badge. For a challenge, bike or walk the full battlefield road and the Greenway trails connecting into Greensboro's park system.
