Canaveral protects 24 miles of undeveloped Atlantic beach on Florida's Space Coast, the longest stretch of pristine shore on Florida's east coast, alongside the mangrove maze of Mosquito Lagoon. Timucua people left great shell middens here, and rockets rise from neighboring Kennedy Space Center.

Swim and hunt shells on the beach, paddle the lagoon, and watch a rocket launch from the sand. For a challenge, anglers and paddlers can chase the lagoon's famous redfish flats or hike the remote beach miles from any access point.
