Address: 144 Constitution Avenue, NE, Washington, DC 20002

This 200-year-old Capitol Hill house has been the headquarters of the National Woman's Party since 1929, home to suffragists Alva Belmont and Alice Paul, author of the Equal Rights Amendment. From here, women organized the protests and lobbying that won the vote and pushed for equal rights. The house is now a museum of the suffrage and women's equality movements.

See the banners and protest sashes carried in the suffrage parades and tour the historic house. For a challenge, work through the full museum collection, one of the country's richest archives of the women's rights movement.
